Subsequent to the problems with his knees, he suffered from cancer, a severe sepsis attack and blood loss resulting from stomach ulcers which he attributed to his NSAID arthritis medication. On the episode which aired during the week of 31, May 2015, he was absent from the program and his wife elaborated that he had been hospitalized for triple bypass heart surgery. Carl Baugh co-hosted the program until she return to his weekly show on 3, October 2015.
She announced that Jack Van Impe had broken his hip, but was recovering. Carl Baugh co-hosted that program as well. In Jack’s absence, she co-hosted the program with various guests, Carl Baugh for 6 episodes, Dave Williams for 6 episodes, Dr. Robert Jeffress for 2 episodes and Walt Sheppard for three episodes. Re-runs were aired until the 27, May 2017, broadcast when Jack Van Impe reappeared beside Rexella and the couple announced that, under the doctor’s advice, they were ending the TV broadcast from April to May 2017. Thereafter, weekly videos were uploaded on the organization’s Web site. He radio and television broadcasts resumed, with Chuck Ohman serving as their announcer.
He passed away on 18, January 2020, at a hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan at the age of 88, three weeks before his 89 birthday
