Amanda got her start in officiating in 2011 after watching a high school football game in Pennsylvania with her late husband, Peter. The bad calls on the field were driving momentum toward her pursuing her newfound passion as a referee.
It was by chance that she became the umpire of the junior varsity high school games. She attended her first meeting at candidate school in the Westchester County Football Officials Association. A week later, she played her first youth game.
By the end of the fall, she started working as the umpire of the varsity high school. After six years, she started working for the Ohio State spring game.
