Dr. Kildare is an NBC medical drama television series which was aired from September 28, 1961, until August 30, 1966, starring Richard Chamberlain as Dr. Kildare. The series ran for five seasons comprised of 191 episodes. It was based on fictional doctor characters, Dr. Leonard Gillespie (a senior doctor), and Dr. James Kildare (young intern).
