Curry was born on August 23, 1990, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Seth attended Charlotte Christian School in Charlotte, North Carolina, from where he graduated in 2008. He then enrolled at Liberty University College from 2008 to 2009, after which he transferred to Duke University from 2010 to 2013.

Rise To Fame

Curry began playing at Charlotte Christian School, where he was a three-year starter for the Knights’ basketball team. He averaged 22.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists while shooting 52 percent from the field at his senior year, earning all-conference, all-state, and first-team SAA All-American accolades at the end of the season.

He appeared on the Charlotte Christian academic honor roll all four years. At college, he played basketball for one year with the Liberty Flames, wearing jersey number 30, he led all freshmen nationally in average points per game scoring 20.2 a game. He scored a record for a freshman by breaking the Big South Conference single season.

In 2010, he transferred to the Duke Blue Devils and sat out the 2009–10 basketball season with the same jersey number 30. He was named a starter after a toe injury sidelined Kyrie Irving. He debuted in a game against Miami (Ohio), leading the team with 17 points on 57% shooting.

On February 9, 2011, he scored a season-high 22 points against North Carolina. He scored a career-high 31 against Santa Clara on December 29, 2012. He was named a second-team All-American and was named to the All-ACC first team by Sporting News at the end of his senior year.
