Markell is the creator and the President of Olive Tree Ministries which she established in 1982. Also, Olive Ministries headquarters is found in Maple Grove, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis. She began her Ministries after she visited Israel in the mid-70s’, read Hal Lindsey’s Late Great Planet Earth, and was likewise concerned with Messianic Judaism.

After the establishment of Olive Tree, Jan ministered in hundreds of women’s groups, churches, home fellowships, and even some men’s groups. Additionally, her audiences were excited as she shared messages concentrating on Jewish evangelism, Bible prophecy, Israel in prophecy, Christ in the Passover, and recent events.
