At 16 Digard left home, journeyed to Paris, and spent a year there and later in Italy before traveling further to England. She returned to her native Sweden and eventually settled in the United States in 1967.

During her free time, Digard satisfied her love for outdoor life, skiing, swimming, and nudism, which would subsequently be crucial to her persona as an actress and model.

While working as a translator for the jewelry trade in the United States, Digard was told so frequently that she should model, she finally decided to try.
