Testament has officially confirmed that legendary drummer Dave Lombardo has rejoined the band following the departure of Gene Hoglan. Testament was an American thrash metal band from Berkeley, California. Created in 1983 under the name Legacy, the band’s recent lineup includes rhythm guitarist Eric Peterson, lead guitarist Alex Skolnick, drummer Dave Lombardo, lead vocalist Chuck Billy, and bassist Steve Di Giorgio.

Testament has encountered many lineup changes over the years, with Peterson being the only remaining actual member, though they have since been rejoined by one of its songwriters Skolnick, who had been out of the band from 1992 to 2005. Billy has been a member of Testament since 1986 when he superseded actual singer Steve “Zetro” Souza, who had joined Exodus as the replacement for Paul Baloff.

He and Peterson are the only members to occur on all of Testament’s studio albums, with the last being the only constant member overall.
