Back in 1969, he was hired as a sportscaster by WVNY in Burlington, Vermont. After his wife’s pregnancy, Lobel moved to WJOY. He then joined WGIR in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1972.
Here, he hosted a nightly call-in show and also called high school sports, Saint Anselm and Dartmouth hockey not forgetting American Legion baseball.
