Dinkins was 89 years old at the time of her death, she was born Joyce Elizabeth Burrows in Manhattan on December 22 in 1930. Joyce passed away in her home in Manhattan in October 11, 2020. Dinkins was born David Norman Dinkins in Trenton, New Jersey in July 10, 1927. He is the son of Sarah “Sally” Lucy and William Harvey Dinkins Jr. David passed away around 9.30pm on November 23 in his Upper East Side home in New York. He was 93 years old. The cause of Dinkins death was not immediately published.
Joyce was the daughter of a real estate broker and was brought up in Harlem. Her father Daniel Burrows was among the first Black people to be elected as a Manhattan Democratic District leader.
