Demetria joined the team to revive the Nashville banner in February 2020. On Tuesday 25 February 2020, the high-profile TV anchor announced a joint significant donation with Meredith Corp which owns her former employer, WSMV Channel 4 to Nashville Public Media, the entity behind the Banner’s relaunch that’s spearheaded by veteran journalist Steve Cavendish. According to a news release, Kalodimos and Meredith made separate donations to the nonprofit and to the nonpartisan Tennessee Coalition for Open Government.
The release did not disclose the value of each donation. As part of Tuesday’s announcement, Kalodimos was named executive producer of the revived Banner, which is slated to launch later this year. Cavendish, the former editor-in-chief of the Nashville Scene, will serve as its president and editor.
