In 1996, Ono invited Cibo Matto’s Miho Hatori and Yuka Honda to remix the song “Talking to the Universe” for a Rising EP Rising Mixes remix. They met Lennon and invited him as a bass player to join them on tour. This eventually led Lennon to contribute to their Butter 08 side-project and become a member of the group.
