Dan Shulman was born on March 25, 1968, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Jewish parents, and raised in Princeton, New Jersey with two siblings, a sister, the late Amy Adina Schulman, who died in 1986, and a brother Joel Schulman.

He was captain of the tennis and lacrosse teams at Princeton High School and went on to acquire a bachelor’s degree in economics from Middlebury College, and an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business.

Shulman gained fame during the early 1990s, when he was hired by the Fan 1430 (a sports radio station in Toronto now known as Sportsnet 590 The Fan) and would go on to host Prime Time Sports.
