She worked as a journalist who covered Canadian news for CBC before she decided to be an international correspondent in 1971. She was initially covering Canadian News for CBC News until in 1971 she decided to become a foreign correspondent. She was named as an inspiration for women serving as war correspondents today by the New York Times in 2015.

She went through the years 1971-73 as an independent reporter, in the Middle East. She joined ABC News in 1973, as a remote reporter situated in London and Paris 1973. In 1977 got down to business for NBC News as a reporter in Tel Aviv. She came back to ABC News in 1981, however, left in 1984 to join CBLT in Toronto to peruse the early nightly news close by Fraser Kelly.
