Terrence J Biography
Terrence J (Terrence Jenkins) is an American actor, television personality and model born on 21st April 1982 in Queens, New York. He became popular as a host of 106 & Park, a BET’s popular music video countdown show (2006 – 2012). He is the co-founder of Jenkins Entertainment Group, a company that specializes in hosting, consulting and formulating marketing plans.
While still in high school, at Northern Nash High, Terrence worked as a DJ at WRSV Soul 92.1 until he graduated. While at North Carolina A&T State University he served as Student Government Association President and as a DJ for WNAA, the North Carolina A&T’s radio station. He also worked as a DJ at 102 Jamz, a local radio station in Greensboro.
After graduating from the university in 2004 he worked in the diversity office of a sports company in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was told by Fred Whitaker that BET was searching for new faces to host 106 & Park. Terrence flew to New York in late 2005 to audition. He was unhappy with his first audition and together with his friends they wnt to Atlanta where he did an audition and was successful.
In 2012 he was selected to co-anchor for E! News as a replacement for Ryan Seacrest. He starred in the Stomp the Yard: Homecoming, the sequel to the 2007 film Stomp the Yard. He has also starred in the fourth season of the show The Game and The Heart Specialist with Marla Gibbs.

Terrence is in a relationship with model Jasmine Sanders. During an interview with Baller Alert Terrence said that he was sure Jasmine was the love of his life.
“In the relationship, I’m in right now, we took a long time before we had sex and that’s why it’s been able to be a better thing. Because you have to really take the time to get to know someone.”
Terrence J BET 106 & Park
In late 2005, he auditioned for BET as they were looking for new faces to host 106 & Park. On 6th July 2006 together with Rocsi (real name Raquel Roxanne Diaz), they began hosting BET 106 & Park.
On 29th May 2012 they announced that they were leaving 106 & Park. Their last episode was broadcast on 28th September 2012.
Terrence J 106 & Park Weekend Countdown radio show
In 2005 he began co-hosting 106 & Park Weekend Countdown, BET’s nationally syndicated radio show. The countdown later seized and was replaced by the MTV Rhythmic Countdown.
Terrence J Car Accident
In October 2018 it was reported that he was involved in a hit and run, according to TMZ a black McLaren registered to Terrence slammed into a parking meter until it slid into a tree. TMZ also revealed that Terrence was on the passenger seat and a woman, who was alleged to be his girlfriend Jasmine Sanders, was driving but lost control and the car came to a stop after hitting a tree. It was alleged that they both took off after the scene.
Jasmine’s rep later told TMZ that she was not in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
“On behalf of our client, Jasmine Sanders, we would like to clarify that Ms. Sanders was not in the vehicle at the time of this morning’s accident and was in no way involved.”

In 2013 Terrence released his book The Wealth of My Mother’s Wisdom: The Lessons That Made My Life Rich
In the book, Terrence shares what his mother taught him as she gave birth to him when she was seventeen years old. He writes about the lessons about sacrifice, courage, loyalty, dreams, and perseverance that helped make him the man he is. In both Terrence says is mother pushed him to succeed at an early age leading by example and always putting him first.
