Yakoubian is a Meteorologist currently working for KATV since joining the station in August 2005. You can find his forecasts every weekend on KATV Channel 7.Previously, he was in Chattanooga, Tennessee, working for an NBC-affiliated TV station, WRCB-TV. He stayed there for 6 years and a month working as a weathercaster. During his time at WRCB, he was a member of the meteorology team that won the Tennessee Associated Press award for best weathercast for 2 years in a row.
He covered the Veterans Day tornado outbreak and the heavy floods produced by Hurricane Ivan while in Chattanooga. Before that, he was in Missoula, Montana, working for KPAX-TV, a dual CBS/CW+-affiliated TV station. There he stayed for 2 years and 8 months, serving as a Chief Meteorologist, as well as forecasting the morning weathercasts.
Yakoubian is a proud alumnus of the University of Oklahoma, as well as Mississippi State University. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism in the year 1996 from the University of Oklahoma.
