Levi was set to star as the lead in an ABC pilot called Three for the 2004/2005 television season, but the show was never picked up. In 2007, he landed the lead role in Chuck. Levi and his Chuck co-star Yvonne Strahovski were both nominated for Teen Choice Awards Best Action Actor and Actress Choice TV Series, which they both won and presented.
Levi was named one of Entertainment Weekly’s Top Thirty People Under Thirty in the summer of 2008. He later played Dave’s cousin Toby Seville in the film Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.
He appeared in the 2010 Disney animated feature film Tangled, based on the popular fairy tale Rapunzel. Flynn Rider, a bandit who seeks refuge in Rapunzel’s tower, is played by him. He narrated Under the Boardwalk: The Monopoly Story, a documentary about the board game Monopoly, which was released in 2011.

Levi hosted the web documentaries Tomb Raider: The Final Hours, which took viewers behind the scenes of the upcoming Tomb Raider game.
He was supposed to play Fandral in Thor, but he had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with Chuck. He did reprise the role in the sequels, Thor: The Dark World (2013), after original actor Josh Dallas was unable to do so due to scheduling conflicts, and briefly in Thor: Ragnarok (2017).
In August 2013, Levi made his Broadway debut in a production of the musical comedy First Date. In January 2015, it was announced that Levi would play Luke Collins in NBC’s 13-episode miniseries Heroes Reborn.
A second season of the show was not ordered. He also appeared as Abraham Lincoln in Hulu’s original series Deadbeat. Levi appeared in the Broadway revival of She Loves Me as Georg, alongside Laura Benanti as Amalia.
It opened on March 17, 2016, at Studio 54, following previews on February 19, 2016, for a limited engagement through June 12. The run was later extended until July 10, when it came to an end.
The production received high critical acclaim, including 5 stars from The Guardian and a Critics’ Pick from The New York Times. For his performance, Levi was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical.
Critics praised Levi’s portrayal of Georg, describing him as “suave and handsome at times, disarmingly nebbishy at others,” and saying he “[exudes] sweet modesty and just a pinch of hauteur.”
On June 30, 2016, the production had a historic live-streamed performance, with Levi and the cast taking part in the first live-streamed show in Broadway history.

He’s also set to appear in two Kingdom Story Company films: Kurt Warner in the biographical sports drama American Underdog (film) and LaRette in The Unbreakable Boy.
