2017 gave me and my family both grief
2017 gave me and my family both grief and joy. I’m learning that a person can deeply experience those two vastly different emotions at the same time. This last year, my family said goodbye to our dear Grammy. It was heartbreaking walking her to the gates of Heaven, and she taught me bravery and grace in the face of death. Grammy’s journey through hospice did bring us new mercies still: precious time together as a family.
2017 also brought us new life. In June, our family welcomed a new niece – Felicity! (Or “Flick!”) She and Posy are the lights of our lives. It’s so inspiring to see the way my brother and sister-in-law raise these two babies. Oh, – and I can’t forget the lighter moments in the year.
A trip to Cabo with the hubs. Mornings at the anchor desk with Jon Karroll KRDO and Good Morning Colorado’s Shannon Brinias. The first Christmas in five years at home in Seattle. Grateful for our life here in southern Colorado, and wish you all a very Happy New Year.
