Wallace first played college basketball at the junior college level at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland for two years. There, staples of Ben’s defensive prowess were shown as he averaged 17.0 rebounds and 6.9 blocks per game. Former basketball player Charles Oakley is Ben’s mentor, after discovering Ben in 1991 at a basketball camp, he recommended him to his previous college, Virginia Union, an NCAA Division II school, where he studied criminal justice.
