Caeleb Dressel is an American freestyle and butterfly swimmer who specializes in sprint events. He currently represents the Cali Condors which is part of the International Swimming League.
He won seven gold medals at the 2017 Budapest World Aquatics Championships and a record eight medals, including six gold, at the 2019 Gwangju World Aquatics Championships. Dressel is a twice-time Olympic gold medalist and currently holds the world record in the 100-meter butterfly and 50-meter freestyle.
Dressel holds the American records in 50 m and 100 m freestyle and 50 m and 100 m butterfly. He also holds the short course records in 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events, the 100-yard butterfly, and the individual 200-yard medley, and formerly in the breaststroke.

Caeleb Dressel 2017 NCAA Division I Championships
He broke American and US Open records in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard freestyle at the 2017 NCAA Division I Championships, with 43.58 and 40.00 times respectively. He also tied his record of 50 freestyles with an 18.20, the same as the year before.
Caeleb Dressel 2018 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships
Dressel won all three of his individual races in the 2018 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships and secured his first national relay championship. Dressel smashed the American and US Open records in the thrice 50-yard freestyle on day 2 of the tournament, March 22, 2018. In the morning session, he swam first on an 18.11 in the individual preliminary race.
He later built on that mark in the evening leading off the national championship-winning relay at the University of Florida with a 17.81 split and finished his mark with a 17.63 in the 50-yard freestyle final. The next day, he smashed the open American and US records in the 100-yard butterfly, swimming a 42.80. For the third year in a row, this won him CSCAA Swimmer of the Meet honors, as he became the first swimmer ever to smash the 18 seconds 50 free barrier, the 40 seconds 100 free barrier, and the 43 seconds 100 fly barrier in the history of swimming yards. Dressel signed with Speedo on 19 July 2018.
