From 1998 to 2003, Meloni showed the bisexual criminal Chris Keller on the HBO series Oz. Oz was an American prison drama television series set at a fictional men’s prison created and principally composed by Tom Fontana.

    New Show

Our source confirmed that Meloni will return as Elliot Stabler in a new NBC series spin-off from “Law & Order” mastermind Dick Wolf. Further, the new SVU spinoff will air on NBC. The show will follow Stabler as he heads up the organized crime division of the NYPD.

    Law And Order Svu

Between 1998 to 2003, Meloni was cast on the role of bisexual criminal Chris Keller on the HBO series Oz. In 1999, Law & Order producer Dick Wolf signed Meloni to play Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Meloni played both roles on Oz and Law & Order: SVU concurrently until Oz went off the air in 2003. In 2006, Meloni earned an Emmy nomination, in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, for his role as Elliot Stabler.

In May 2011, Meloni announced that he would not be returning to SVU in fall 2011 for its 13th season after the failure of negotiations over a new contract. Later, on March 31, 2020, Meloni stated that he would reprise the role, Stabler, in the untitled SVU spin-off which was picked up by NBC.

    Christopher Meloni Mariska Hargitay

Meloni was the male lead along with Hargitay for SVU‘s first 12 seasons, with their characters both partners and best friends. Mariska Hargitay former Law & Order: SVU co-star is also the godmother to his daughter.

    Christopher Meloni Elias Koteas

Meloni and Elias Koteas resemble each other. Elias Koteas portrayed Alvin Olinsky on the first five seasons of Chicago P.D. The Dick Wolf produced dramas of Chicago P.D. and SVU have had a couple of crossover events in the past six years, but by that time Meloni had already left SVU.

The opportunity to get the two actors together in a scene was missed. Fans seem to think this missed opportunity could be easily rectified by placing Meloni and Koteas in a show together.

    On True Blood

Meloni was cast on the fifth season of HBO’s True Blood as Roman, a powerful, 500-year-old vampire who sits at the head of the table of the Vampire Authority. Roman’s main mission is to get his blood-drinking brethren to cohabitate peacefully with humans.
