The siblings’ father, Clarence J. “Bud” Brown Jr., was a newspaper publisher who enabled manage the Brown Publishing Company, the family-owned newspaper business started by Clancy’s grandfather, Congressman Clarence J. Brown. The family resumed operating the business in 2010.
