Frances Peyton is an American meteorologist for WTVR CBS 6 in Richmond. As of now, she serves as a Meteorologist at WTVR-TV since April 2019. Before, Peyton served as a Morning and Noon Meteorologist at WHSV-TV from 2017 to 2019. Frances also served as a Head Coach as a weekend meteorologist/weekday reporter at WVVA from 2016 to 2017.

Peyton began her career in broadcast meteorology in Southern West Virginia, providing the deep valleys and the Appalachian Mountains. From there she traveled north to be the morning meteorologist, forecasting for the Shenandoah Valley, Appalachian, as well as the Blue Ridge Mountains. Peyton has covered devastating floods, severe thunderstorms, tropical storms, and chased tornadoes.

Peyton is a founding member of the National Charity League, Cherry Blossom Chapter. In her first year, Peyton was Vice President of Philanthropy of the NCL, Cherry Blossom Chapter, for the girls that are her year. The next year Peyton served as a Secretary, which meant she wrote down everything that was talked about in every meeting and took attendance.

Being a Senior in High School and her last year as a ticktock in NCL, Peyton held the position of Historian. Being a Historian, Peyton took pictures of every event and documented the events throughout the year in a scrapbook. Now Peyton is a sustainer of the National Charity League, Cherry Blossom Chapter.

While in high school, she served as a Member of the Society of High School Scholars 2008-2012, as a Women’s Varsity Tennis Team 2008-2012, Women’s Varsity Lacrosse 2010, Women’s Varsity Tennis Team Captain and MVP 2012, and Member of Environmental Club 2008-2010, as well as was awarded the Presidential Service Award.

Later on, Peyton received a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology in the year 2016 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and States University. While at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and States University from 2012 to 2016 Peyton was a 4-year Women’s Tennis Team, Active member of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity.
