Joe Perry Aerosmith

Perry and American singer Tom Hamilton were the founding members of the Aerosmith rock band. The duo initially named the band as The Jam Band, however, after Brad Whitford, Steven Tyler, and drummer Joey Kramer joined them, the group changed their name to Aerosmith. Aerosmith was formed in Boston, MA in 1970.

Aerosmith was a household name after the album hits Toys in the Attic released in 1975 and Rocks released in 1976. Rock band Aerosmith enjoyed a huge fan base (The Blue Army) which was followed by a lot of drug use and cynism between the members. As a result of their unprofessionalism, the band started to trip and stumble.

Perry departed from Aerosmith in 1979 after his then-wife Elyssa Jerret got in a heated argument with Tom Hamilton’s wife that altercated to the duo members of Aerosmith arguing.

However, Aerosmith band members reconciled in 1984 and immediately signed to Geffen records. Aerosmith released their first album since their much-publicized reunion called Done With Mirrors in 1985. Additionally, the group collaborated and featured Songwriter Hall of Fame member Desmond Child and Canadian Jim Vallance after their reunion.

Nevertheless, Aerosmith had their official comeback in 1987 after they released their ninth studio album called Permanent Vacation. Moreover, the albums were also a great success, Pump released in 1989 and Get a Grip which was released in 1993.
