At Michigan, Jordan was a member of the 2018 Big Ten Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament championship 2017–18 team. Jordan Poole is well known for a game-winning buzzer-beater three-point shot that he made as a true freshman to help the 2017–18 Wolverines advance to the Sweet Sixteen round of the 2018 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament as part of their road to the 2018 NCAA Championship Game.

Poole had several competing offers including Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, Memphis, Marquette, Virginia Tech and Auburn. At the time of his commitment, he was the 92nd-ranked overall prospect and the 21st-ranked shooting guard in the national class of 2017. Jordan Poole Michigan

Michigan basketball‘s offseason picture became clearer Tuesday afternoon when Jordan Poole announced he’ll remain in the NBA draft. Poole, who announced his intent to test the draft waters and hire an agent on April 9 following his sophomore season, had the option to return to school. But the possibility of doing so seemed slim based on Jordan Poole’s comments before Michigan’s end-of-season banquet just last week, and it became even more questionable when an account under his name was created on Cameo.com, a video-greeting website that allows fans of athletes and celebrities to pay for a personalized message.

Jordan Poole NBA

It’s why he left Michigan basketball after two seasons and declared for the NBA draft. It gave him a chance to ensure his dream of becoming a pro basketball player comes true. “It’s been exciting,” Jordan Poole said Thursday afternoon while at the NBA combine. “It’s something I’ve dreamed of my entire life, and just being able to be here in this particular situation, there’s nothing (more) you can ask for.”

Poole, who was U-M’s second-leading scorer last season at 12.8 points per game, declared for the draft on April 9. Exactly two weeks later, he announced his decision to remain in the draft and forego his college eligibility. So far, the 6-foot-5 guard says he’s heard good things from the NBA. “A lot of positive feedback,” Poole said. “I knew coming out of college what I would be getting into.”

While Poole chose to sit out 5-on-5 play at the combine, he still went through testing and performed well. By Friday afternoon, he ranked No. 1 in spot-up shooting with an average of 76 percent, No. 3 in off-dribble shooting with 62.5 percent and No. 6 in on-the-move shooting with 60.9 percent. He also placed sixth in lane agility testing with a time of 10.59 seconds.

Jordan Poole High School

Poole went to Rufus King High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin through his junior year. He then transferred to play his senior season for La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana. Jordan Poole was 2016 first team All-Wisconsin selection as a junior and a member of the 2017 Dick’s National High School Championship winner as a senior.

As a freshman at Rufus King High School in Wisconsin, Poole once made a game-tying three-point shot from off the bench. Jordan Poole visited Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Drake, and Marquette as a blue-chip high school basketball recruit. Then, he visited Michigan for the September 26 football game between the 2015 Wolverines and BYU, receiving an offer that weekend.

He returned to campus on October 17 for the rivalry game against Michigan State. On October 23, 2015, four-star recruit Jordan Poole became the first commitment for the Class of 2017 after a home gym visit from head coach John Beilein and assistant coach LaVall Jordan and multiple Michigan campus visits.

Jordan Poole Game Winner

Poole’s splay-legged buzzer-beater gave Michigan an improbable 64-63 victory against Houston, sending the Wolverines into the Sweet 16. Michigan will face either North Carolina or Texas A&M next week in Los Angeles. After a game when neither team executed very much very well, Poole’s winner came at the end of a well-executed final play.

After Houston’s Devin Davis missed two free throws with 3.9 seconds left, Michigan called timeout to set up the sequence. The inbounds pass from Isaiah Livers came to Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman near midcourt. He took two dribbles and found Jordan Poole deep on the right-wing. The freshman guard’s shot found nothing but net, touching off a celebration that saw Poole jump onto a chair on the Michigan bench and scream at the Wolverines’ crowd.

Both teams had missed earlier chances to win it in a foul-plagued affair. In the final 10 seconds, Wolverines guard Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman drove past Houston’s Rob Gray into the lane but missed a running bank shot. Davis pulled down the defensive rebound and was fouled, but Jordan Poole missed the free throws. Davis, a senior forward, made three of six attempts in the final 44 seconds.

The annual NBA Rookie Survey is out, and former Kentucky guard and Miami Heat rookie Tyler Herro has been voted best shooter by his peers. Herro received 33 percent of the vote, followed Sacramento’s Kyle Guy (29 percent), Phoenix’s Cameron Johnson (13 percent) and Ty Jerome (8 percent) and Golden State’s Jordan Poole (4 percent). Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young received 47 percent of the vote in last year’s rookie survey. Young, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

They went on to average 19.1 points and 8.1 assists per game for the Hawks last season while shooting 41.8 percent overall, 32.4 percent from three-point range and 82.8 percent from the free-throw line. One of the standout performers at NBA Summer League stints in both Sacramento and Las Vegas, Herro averaged 19.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.5 steals in six appearances for the Heat, making 17 three-pointers while shooting 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Jordan Poole Warriors

Warrior’s rookies Jordan Poole and Eric Paschall were in perfect symmetry Saturday afternoon. Stuck in a five-on-two defensive situation, Jordan Poole guided his matchup towards his 6-foot-6, 255-pound teammate, who swatted an unsuspecting adolescent’s layup attempt into the stands. Seconds later, the rookie prospects-turned camp counselors produce the same result, punctuated by a Dikembe Mutombo-like finger wave from Paschall, marking the latest development in their evolving relationship.

One that could bode well for Golden State’s future. Saturday’s chemistry wasn’t expected four months ago. Entering their pre-draft workouts, Jordan Poole and Paschall — now represented by Creative Agents Agency. Both shared scars of the 2018 National Championship game entering their first agent-sanctioned pre-draft workout. In the matchup which Paschall’s Villanova Wildcats beat Poole’s Michigan Wolverines handily. Jordan Poole converted an and-1 on Paschall, who celebrated his national championship as his future teammate sat along the sideline.
