June Haver was an American film actress, singer, and dancer. Having been groomed by 20th Century Fox to be the next Betty Grable, June Haver appeared in a string of musicals, but she never achieved Grable’s popularity.
June Haver Age
Born as June Stovenour, June Haver was born on 10th June in Rock Island, Illinois. She later took her stepfather’s last name, Bert Haver. After the family moved to Ohio, June Haver, seven-year-old then, entered and won a contest of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. At age eight, she won a film test by imitating famous actresses including Greta Garbo, Katharine Hepburn, and Helen Hayes.
At age 10, Haver moved back to Rock Island, where she started performing for Rudy Vallée. Her mother as an actress and her father as a musician, Haver often doubted who she wanted to follow careerwise. Haver’s mother, however, banned her daughter from becoming a child actress in the film industry, feeling she was too young.
Working regularly as a band singer by her teens, she performed with the Ted Fio Rito Orchestra for $75 a week. Other bandleaders for whom she worked were Dick Jurgens and Freddy Martin. Furthermore, she became a well-known child star on the radio.
June Haver died on July 4, 2005, at the age of 79 years old.

June Haver Fred Macmurray
June Haver’s second husband was the actor Fred MacMurray, whom she married after she retired from show business. Haver met MacMurray, one of the wealthiest and most conservative men in Hollywood and a romantic relationship developed. When she was 18, she had worked on a film with him, but he was married at the time. The duo got married on On June 28, 1954. She had told the press;
“When I married Fred, he was terribly set in his ways. He was a fuss-budget. He hadn’t quite progressed to being a lint picker, but he was already an ash-tray emptier, and that’s just about as set in his ways as a man can get.”
Haver insisted on adopting a girl, but MacMurray, who was 18 years her senior, initially refused, explaining he already had been a father. Shortly after, he agreed on adopting a child, and with the help of a doctor, they were able to take in twin daughters. Fred died in 1991.

After an extended trip to South America, June Haver married Fred MacMurray on a ranch near Ojai, California. She was 28 years old while he was 45years old. They made their home in a Georgian colonial house in Brentwood.
When the MacMurray’s learned that they couldn’t have children of their own, Haver insisted on adopting a girl. However, MacMurray initially refused, saying he had been a father already. Later, Dr. Lou Prucher, an obstetrician convinced Fred into accepting her wish to adopt a baby. The baby they waited for turned out to be twin girls. The couple adopted their twin daughters and named them Katie Marie and Laurie Anne. Fred MacMurray has two children from his first marriage.
June Haver Cause of Death
June Haver died from respiratory failure on July 4, 2005, in Brentwood, California. At the time of her death, Haver was 79 years old. She together with her husband was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, in Culver City.
