Katharine Houghton Hepburn is an American actress known for her powerful independence and spirit personality. Hepburn has been a leading lady in Hollywood for more than 60 years. She appeared in a variety of genres, from screwball comedy to literary drama, and she was awarded a record four Best Actress Academy Awards. Hepburn was appointed the biggest female star by the American Film Institute in 1999.
