After she was through with cancer treatment Roberts was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) in 2012. Myelodysplastic is a disease of the bone marrow. Roberts took a leave from GMA and went for a bone marrow transplant in October 2012 and by February 20, 2013, she returned to GMA. She received a 2012 Peabody Award for the program.

Bob Lobel WBZ

Lobel joined WBZ in 1979, where he was an end-of-the-week sports anchor. Later in 1981, he was promoted to a weekday anchor and sports executive. He has likewise done in-depth work, calling WBZ’s yearly coverage of the Boston Marathon, Boston Celtics games from 1989 to 1993. He likewise pursued Boston College Eagles football match-ups in 1986, New England Patriots pre-season games from 1995 to 1997.

Lawsuit

Lobel, who has spinal stenosis and must utilize props, subsequently recorded a discrimination suit in the United States District Court in Boston in November 2015, after Woodland Golf Club in Newton, Massachusetts, banned him from taking his truck onto its putting greens in 2014. Lobel was requesting $250,000 in pay for violating the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Massachusetts Civil Rights Act, and to be allowed to access the course with a particular truck.

” Woodland is accounted for to have reacted, “The golf truck caused noteworthy impressions and tears on the greens during the test.” In March 2016, three of four included in the claim (counting the interest for $250,000) were expelled.

In 2005, Lobel documented a defamation suit against Darby Conley (maker of the funny cartoon Get Fuzzy), United Feature Syndicate, and The Standard-Times of New Bedford, Massachusetts, for inferring and declaring that Lobel was inebriated while on air; the claim was privately addressed and any remaining issues were resolved in November 2005.
