James David Vance, popularly known as J. D. Vance, is an American author and venture capitalist known for his book Hillbilly Elegy. The book is about the Appalachian measures of his raising and their association with the cultural difficulties of his hometown.
J. D. is 40 years old, he was born on August 2, 1984, in Middletown, Ohio, the United States of America. He celebrates his birthday on August 2, every year and his birth sign is Leo.

J. D. Vance was named by Donald Trump on his social media platform, Truth Social, as Trump’s running mate on July 15, 2024. He first won election to the U.S. Senate in 2022 and has only been a senator for a year and a half.
Vance’s memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy,” became notable in the year 2016, telling Vance’s personal story against the backdrop of the struggles of Appalachia and Rust Belt America.
Vance was born in Middletown, Ohio, as James Donald Bowman, the son of Donald Bowman (father) and Bev Vance (mother). His only sister, Lindsay Ratliff, was born when his mother was nineteen years old. His mother and father separated when he was a child. Not long after, he was adopted by his mother’s third husband.
Vance’s mother battled with prescription pain medication which led to a heroin addiction throughout her childhood. She left behind a string of husbands and offered little stability. As a result, he and his sister were raised primarily by his grandparents.

Vance said that his mother, whose addiction to painkillers and, later, heroin, is well documented in his memoir, recently celebrated four years of being drug-free. “We’re all pretty excited for her,” he said. “Mom’s doing great.”
Vance is married to one of Usha Chilukuri, a former law school classmate. His wife is an Indian-American woman.
The couple had their wedding in 2014 a simple and glamorous wedding and together they have a son called Ewan. She was a law clerk to Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts during the 2017 – 2018 Term.
