Steve Wallace, a film-student protégé of Ogilvie, hired Crowe for the film Blood Oath in 1990 , which was released a month earlier than The Crossing, although actually filmed later. In 1992, Crowe starred in the first episode of the second series of Police Rescue. The band released The Photograph Kills EP in 1995, as well as three full-length records, Gaslight (1998), Bastard Life or Clarity (2001) and Other Ways of Speaking (2003). TOFOG in 2000, performed shows in London, Los Angeles and the now famous run of shows at Stubbs in Austin, Texas which became a live DVD that was released in 2001, called Texas. In 2001, the band came to the US for major press, radio and TV appearances for the Bastard Life or Clarity release and returned to Stubbs in Austin, Texas to kick off a sold out US tour with dates in Austin, Boulder, Chicago, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York City and the last show at the famous Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
In early 2005, the group “dissolved/evolved” with Crowe feeling his future music would take a new direction. He began a collaboration with Alan Doyle of the Canadian band Great Big Sea, and with it a new band emerged: The Ordinary Fear of God which also involved some members of the previous TOFOG line-up. A new single, Raewyn, was released in April 2005 and an album entitled My Hand, My Heart, was released and is available for download on iTunes. The album includes a tribute song to actor Richard Harris, who became Crowe’s friend during the making of Gladiator.
Russell Crowe & The Ordinary Fear of God set out to break the new band in by performing a successful sold out series of dates of Australia in 2005, and then in 2006, returned to the US to promote their new release My Hand, My Heart with another sold-out US Tour and major press, radio and television appearances. She shot to fame as the fierce warrior Obara Sand on Game Of Thrones.
But Keisha-Castle Hughes will now flex her acting muscles in a different kind of drama, when she stars as a boxer in a ‘sexy, gritty’ four-part SBS show The Ropes.
The 28-year-old New Zealander will share the screen with acting legend Jack Thompson and Romper Stomper actor Nicole Chamoun.
The drama, described as a ‘sexy, gritty drama that is fast-paced and full of heart’, went into production on Monday in Western Sydney.
Keisha plays hard-nosed fighter Jess O’Connor, who fights in a professional debut match thanks to her Iraqi-Australian trainer Amirah (Chamoun).
Chamoun, who works in the family gym in Sydney’s western suburbs, is cut off by her world champion father Sami (Igal Naor) for organising the match.
Jack Thompson will star as play Sami’s long-time promoter Strick.
SBS director of television Marshall Heald said: ‘The Ropes continues SBS’s run of acclaimed provocative dramas that reflect Australian stories through a uniquely multicultural lens.
The Ropes will premiere on SBS later in the year.
It’s a change from Keisha’s last role as warrior Obara Sand in the fifth, sixth, and seventh seasons of Game Of Thrones.
Keisha read the A Song of Ice and Fire novels long before the TV adaptation, but became fascinated with it when Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) was introduced in season four.
She plays the eldest of eight bastard daughters of Oberyn Martell and was trained on how to wield a spear for the role.
‘I was really lucky. I’m half Māori and so I’ve worked a lot in my life with a Taiaha which is a Māori weapon which is very similar to the spear,’ she told Variety in 2015.
‘So it wasn’t completely foreign to me to have that in my hand, which was really nice.’
Rhys Darby is a New Zealand actor, voice actor, and comedian well-known for his energetic physical comedy routines, telling stories accompanied by mime and sound effects. Tanya’s book, Just A Girl Who Got It All, reveals her rags to riches tale, going from being a was a single mother working in a call center to a WAG living in a £2.7million mansion in Cheshire’s affluent ‘Golden Triangle.’
She writes in her book: ‘I had always wanted to be a model traveling the world and being on the front cover of magazines, earning lots of money for my daughter Gabriella to have a nice life.’ She added:’ I never believe I could become a model as I was 5ft 3 and I was sure there were millions of girls better looking.’
Tanya is also a very successful businesswoman apart from being a model and a cast member of The Real House helps of Cheshire. She launched her own clothing line in 2019 at affordable prices to all. Tanya was supported by castmates Christine McGuinness and Rachel Lugo and former Housewife Leanne Brown at the bash. Tanya also owns the Dreams to Reality jewelry collection which was launched back in 2015.
Tanya is currently a cast member of Real Houselheps of Cheshire. The reality TV show follows the lives of a group of women who live in one of the UK’s most affluent areas.
It shows their everyday lives and explores their relationships with friends, family, and partners. It also details how they prepare for and deal with social situations and new business ventures.
Tanya lives in a beautiful mansion in Manchester together with her family. However, they had almost lost everything in 2018 when an unexpected fire broke out from the rooftop.
It was only her eldest daughter Gabriela who was at home, but she managed to escape without being hurt. The fire was later discovered to have been caused by a mirrored TV catching ablaze and now the house looks great after being repaired and restored to its normal state.
Bardsley has revealed a non-surgical skin treatment that claims to remodel as well as contour the face. She talked about her striking new look, exclusively telling us how “middle-aged bloat” brought on by a combination of the perimenopause and ageing had shattered her self-confidence.
“I have to tell people about this because it’s made me feel much more confident, attractive, vibrant and glowing,” she reveals. “I look five years younger and feel much more toned and chiselled.”
Tanya says she’d become so downhearted in recent months that she found it a struggle to look in the mirror, despite her stunning appearance.
“I found myself grabbing a jowl every time I looked at my reflection. It was hard work,” she says. “I was feeling dowdy and old, and they’re not good feelings. I just wanted to feel and look younger again.
“As I’ve said before, I would eat donkey poo if it made me look younger! And I do feel great again – all the puffiness has gone, and everyone has been noticing the results and asking me if I’ve had fillers.
“But I haven’t had fillers in my face for 18 months, as it was starting to make my face look bigger. This is a non-invasive treatment, and it’s slimmed my face down completely.”
She adds, “I feel like there must have been trapped water or air in my face or something. The results are just unbelievable, and the procedure is totally pain-free.”
“My acne scars are less prominent,” she says. “They were all on the main section of my cheeks. I got adult acne after the birth of my first son – it was really bad. There were some quite deep pockmarks that have reduced. I’ve got an overall glow now.”
“I saw a massive difference, mainly on my jawline,” she says. “I think that’s because it’s what I stare at most, because that’s what’s giving way first. It was sagging, and the treatment lifted it.
“I felt like the little needles were popping all the trapped air and toxins. That’s not scientifically proven, but that’s what I felt like it had done. I looked like a new woman afterwards.”
Along with her face, Tanya explains she chose to have the treatment on her neck and chest, areas she felt were deteriorating with age. She also had it done to the stretch marks on her thighs.
“You can have this treatment anywhere on the body. I’ve only had one session on my chest, but I’m going to have more,” she tells us. “I noticed a difference, as that area was really giving away my age. I never used to wear sunscreen when I was younger, so my chest used to get burnt.
“I also had stretch marks on my thighs done and they are so old and deep. I thought, ‘Nothing’s going to sort those out,’ but I could see the results after just one go.”
Bardsley has shared any details about her teeth. Even though she has gone through surgery, she seems to have heath teeth.
