    Brooks was born on May 12, 1955, in Shreveport, Louisiana, United States. He attended Sewanee Military Academy, an Episcopal school in Sewanee, Tennessee. Brooks then enrolled at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston as a theatre arts major.

    Brooks repositioned to Alaska to work with his father on an oil pipeline for one summer, then returned to Ruston to complete his education. After college, he moved to Maine to write advertising for a company held by his brother-in-law and sister.

    Brooks became famous after he released an album, Kix Brooks, in 1989 on Capitol Records. This album also featured the song Sacred Ground which became a No. 2 country hit for McBride & the Ride in 1992. Brooks was one half of the country music team Brooks & Dunn.

    Tony appeared in both of Disney Channel’s short series As the Bell Rings seasons where he was portrayed as Danny. Bell Rings feature three original songs recorded by Tony. Tony’s first song was “Could You Be The One” which was premiered on the Disney Channel on August 2, 2008.
