Mike began doing collaborations with numerous Texan artists, such as Selena, for whom he served as musical director and producer. He first became popularly known for pioneering the Dirty South sound in the 1990s, particularly in work for artists from Rap-A-Lot Records. He has most recognized worked alongside Scarface of the Geto Boys, Do or Die, Tha Dogg Pound, Yukmouth of the Luniz, C-Bo, Nate Dogg, Tech N9ne, UGK, Z-Ro, Devin the Dude, Outlawz and 2Pac.
He continued to mix, produce, and master widely throughout American hip hop. He has become famous for producing work with Kanye West. After initially contributing to the mixing of West’s albums The College Dropout and Late Registration, he contributed as a producer on West’s Graduation, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Yeezus, The Life of Pablo, Ye and Donda albums. He also co-produced with West on his collaboration album with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne. Mike was an additional producer on Mercy and Higher on GOOD Music’s 2012 compilation album, Cruel Summer. He has made particularly heavy contributions on West’s last albums and is credited on most tracks.
He has served as a regular guitarist and keyboardist for Kanye West and Travis Scott at their live performances, headlining numerous music festivals, the Watch the Throne Tour, the Yeezus Tour and Travis Scott’s Birds Eye View tour as well as the Astroworld Wish You Were Here Tour. He has also been a frequent collaborator with Travis Scott. His production has appeared in every one of Scott’s musical bodies of work from 2013 to the present.

He mastered Frank Ocean’s visual album Endlessly, wrote and produced tracks on Desiigner’s mixtape New English and produced Desiigner’s single Tiimmy Turner in the year 2016.
He announced he was opening a record label under the title of M.W.A. When questioned what made him decide that now would be the best time to unveil his new record label, he responded; Just a lot of new young artists that’s been asking to get down with me and have my work on their projects and assist them to get deals.

I figured I’d begin a label and sign some new acts. Seems like a good time to begin it. I got a studio out in Los Angeles and I’m able to meet a lot of new artists. When questioned about the meaning of M.W.A, he responded; That’s just what I call myself when I DJ. Mexican Wrestling Association. It’s something that I’ve done with the merch, so I just figured I’d keep the title going. He also revealed Dice Soho the first artist he signed to M.W.A; One of my homies Gustavo Guerra.

On 20, April 2020, he released an instrumental mixtape. The Lana Del Rey single Wildflower Wildfire was released on 20, May 2021, and was produced by Dean. In an interview with Anthony Fantano before the song’s release, Dean said that he was planning on working with Del Rey a lot.

Mixalot Career

Sir had an ear and a passion for music. After high school, he starts DJing parties at local community centers. He had started playing weekends regularly at the Rainier Vista Boys and Girls Club in South Seattle By 1983. He moved locations and began throwing his parties at the Rotary Boys and Girls Club in the Central District. It was there that he met Nasty Nes Rodriguez, a local radio DJ and host of Fresh Tracks, the West Coast’s first rap radio show on Seattle station KKFX (K-Fox).
He partnered with Nasty Nes and local businessman Ed Locke to found the Nastymix record label in the year 1983. The first song to receive fame outside of Seattle was Square Dance Rap in the year 1986. He had originally decided to rap the entire song slow, and speed and pitch it up in upload production, Mix later told Seattle Refined in the year 2018 that he didn’t want to rap, that’s why I use this weird Smurf voice. After the song was hit up by DJs in clubs nationwide, he went touring in Florida, New York, and other states. While in Arizona, he realized a street named Broadway with a restaurant labeled Dick’s, just such as Seattle. This gave him the idea to write his next top Posse on Broadway.
In the year 1987, Mix-a-Lot’s next top release was the single Posse on Broadway, whose name referred to Broadway in Seattle’s Capitol Hill district. The song made the hit 100 but quickly disappeared, although it remains famous in the Seattle area for its references to several local landmarks.
Swass, Sir Mix-a-Lot’s debut album, was released in the year 1988 with two other singles; Square-Dance Rapand Iron Man, a rap metal track sampling from the Black Sabbath song of the same title, which was backed by the band Metal Church. The Recording Industry Association of America certified Swass platinum in the year 1990. The seminar, released in the year 1989 featured My Hooptie, Beepers, Gortex and I Got Game.
