Derbez was born on September 2, 1961, in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico. He graduated from The Mexican Institute of Cinematography and Theater with a degree in Film Directing. He also graduated from Televisa’s Acting School with a degree in Acting. Besides the two degrees, Eugenio has trained in dancing, music, singing which he still improve on to date in New York City and Los Angeles.

Derbez’s career took off in the comedy shows he wrote, produced and directed called Al derecho y al Derbez (1993-1995), which earned him fame and launched his career as a television comedian. It was also followed by Derbez en cuando (1999), XHDRBZ (2002-2007), Vecinos (2005-2006) and La familia P.

Shrek
