Previously, before joining WFTS, Wendy worked as a reporter and anchor at WICS-tv in Springfield, Illinois, where she met her now-husband, Jerome, lives on the air.

Wendy joined the University of Arizona in 1985 & graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in 1989. She studied Communication and Media Studies.

Wendy worked as an anchor and reporter for the KWHY-TV business channel covering the financial markets and interviewing top CEOs from around the country. She then moved to Miami in 2000, to start her national show with NFN, Net Financial News.
In 2002, Wendy joined a national cable network focusing on international issues and the Middle East peace process. Ryan was the news anchor of WICS-TV in Springfield, Illinois. She was featured on Good Morning America, 20/20, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and last week on HBO with John Oliver. She is also part of the ABC Action News I-Team, carrying out several food safety checks through the Hotels and Restaurants Division of Florida, the Department of Agriculture, and the CDC.
Ryan is a consumer advocate for the cleanliness of restaurants. Her Dirty Dining show has long revealed roach-and rodent-infested eateries so that when the anchor enters the restaurant, you can bet the staff takes notice.
