Rise to Fame

Martina began her music career in 1988. In the year 1992, she released her debut studio album under RCA Records. The album was titled ‘The Time Has Come. Produced by Paul Worley and Ed Seay, the album’s title track (The Time Has Come) became position 23 on the country music charts. However, the next two singles failed to hit the top 40.

She released her second album, ‘The Way That I Am. Its two singles made it to the top ten. ‘My Baby Loves Me’ was number 2, while ‘Life No. 9’ was number 6. ‘Independence Day, the third single, failed to reach the top ten because its video and content were objected to by very many radio programmers.

However, the video won Video of the Year and Song of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards. She released two duets with famous stars, Clint Black and Jim Brickman. Martina also did duets with other stars like Bob Seger. Bob was featured on the soundtrack of ‘Hope Floats’, the 1998 motion picture.

McBride fully found success in pop-style music in the 2000s. In 2005, she released another studio album, ‘Timeless’. It consisted of several country covers. It included cover versions of songs by stars such as Hank Williams and Loretta Lynn.
