Gibbs is famous for his tenure at BBC where he served as a weatherman at BBC Radio Four,  BBC Breakfast, BBC News at Six, BBC News at One, and BBC News at Ten. Peter Gibbs Career

Immediately after completing college, Peter started his career as a meteorologist at British Antarctic Survey in Halley Base, Antartic in 1980.  He worked at British Antarctic Survey until 1982. Gibbs joined Met Office as a forecaster in 1983. He provided forecasts to RAF aircrew and Army gunners at sites before being promoted into public forecasting. He served at Met Office for 33 years until Sep 2016.

Additionally, during his time at Met Office, he also worked on BBC. Peter served as a meteorological adviser for Kukua B.V between Feb 2017 and June 2018. Additionally, he served as a meteorological adviser for Opus Insights between June 2018 and July 2019.
