“Standing strong with professor Hamo as we bid farewell to his gallant dad Joe Kago at St. Joseph lanet Nakuru yesterday,” Said Churchill who also gave a moving speech at the funeral. “We are a family thanks everyone for support and prayers for the family. It is well….with my soul. This life’s a journey try and be a blessing to someone when you can.”

The Kenyatta and Nakuru East primary school alumnus is also a proud graduate of Nakuru Day High School. He later went to Kisumu Polytechnic where he for three years studied diploma electrical engineering but dropped halfway, for barely two years (His decision was informed by lack of passion in electrical engineering) and decided to venture into theatre and stand-up comedy in Nakuru while also selling mandazi and training dogs as a side hustle.

Herman signed a contract with the popular show Startimes pay-TV, which he joined in 2015. In the contract, Hamo was appointed as the new brand ambassador for a year, implying that he would be appearing on billboards, TV advertisements and on radio and that he would be paid more than Sh10 million.
“He is set to appear in billboards, roadshows and TV ads. It will earn him more than Sh10 million. It has been finalised in the last few weeks and he is excited to be part of Startimes,” said the source, of the pay TV endorsement, which is part of Star Times Media.
Prior to moving to Startimes, Hamo was earning less than Ksh 50,000 at Churchill Show and was living in Eastlands.

He later joined theatre groups where he performed set books and got a chance to do stand up comedy, where he started by performing on Churchill on the Road Nakuru Edition. However, before he got the platform he says in the interview that he auditioned six times before he finally performed.
He also went to Nakuru theatre and joined a band called Tamasha as a vocalist but he was unhappy as it was not paying well. He then began selling mandazi so as to survive but he still sang in the band.
