Jeffress was elected pastor of First Baptist Dallas on August 12, 2007. Previously, he was the senior pastor of First Baptist in Wichita Falls since 1992. He also had been the senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Eastland, Texas, from 1985 to 1992. Moreover, He preached the sermon at a private service at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Jeffress attended the then-President-elect Donald Trump, on the day of the latter’s inauguration on January 20, 2017. Through his initiative, the First Baptist Church of Dallas broke ground on the construction of a new 3,000-seat Worship Center.
