Pol met his wife, Diane Dalrymple when he was an alien exchange student at Mayville High School in 1961. Pol then graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine at Utrecht University in 1970.
Pol and his wife pushed to Harbor Beach, Michigan, where Pol worked for a veterinarian practice for 10 years. He proceeded to Weidman, Michigan, where he began Pol Veterinary Services in 1981. Pol Veterinary Service treats animals from surrounding neighborhoods due to rural Michigan’s lack of veterinary services.
