He played college football at Monmouth University. Prior to his football career, he played college lacrosse at Penn State.
Joining the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2011, Hogan did not appear in a regular-season game until 2012 as a member of the Buffalo Bills. Prior to his tenure with the Bills, he was signed by the San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants, and Miami Dolphins, but did not make the final roster of each team.
