From 1979 to 1980, Ken Wayne attended the Defense Information School where he studied Journalism and Broadcasting. Here, he joined the US Navy journalism program and worked in the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service

He started off at a small TV and FM station in Adak, a city located on Adak Island, in the Aleutians West Census area of Alaska in the United States. Apart from here, he has also worked in Subic Bay, in the Philippines and aboard the USS Biddle, a guided-missile cruiser in Norfolk, Virginia.
After leaving his work as a Navy journalist, Ken Wayne joined KESQ in 1985. With this job, he was based in Palm Springs. He later moved to Chico, Fresno, Los Angeles.
After spending some time here, he went to the Bay Area where he has been ever since. In the Bay area, he was an anchor to the weekday and weekend newscasts for the Bay Area’s FOX affiliate station.
