Griffin was born on October 22, 1992, in Stamford, Connecticut, in the United States of America. She was taken to Trinity Catholic High in her hometown. During her childhood, she involved herself in multiple sports but chose basketball just like her mother who played basketball. While in high school, she was part of other activities such as Vice president of the National Honor Society, Ambassadors Club member, and Multi-Cultural Club. She had an internship in the sports section of The Stamford Advocate during her last days at Trinity Catholic School.
Later, she joined Province College, a private Catholic university in Providence, Rhode Island. Griffin graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities and Humanistic Studies with a minor in film and video. She has also studied overseas through the Boston University Academic Centre in Sydney, Australia. Aside from Australia, she has also visited broad countries like Greece and Italy.

Griffin’s pursuit of becoming a broadcaster started when she was 17, playing basketball at Trinity Catholic High School in Stamford, Connecticut. She was drafted by Division II colleges, but as much as she adored the game, wanted a different experience in college. She had stayed PC frequently to play in tournaments and loved the campus, where her mother, Dorothy Tolan Griffin ’83, played basketball for the Friars.

Houston Rockets
Connecticut native Cayleigh currently works as a courtside reporter for the Houston and a host for AT&T SportsNet. She joined the Courtside team for the Houston Rockets in October 2019 from Ohio where she served as a host and reporter for the Cleveland Cavaliers and FOX Sports from October 2018 to September 2019. Griffin has also worked on several network platforms such as CBS Sports, and FOX Sports.
