Moltmannis a German Reformed theologian who has gained international recognition for his contributions to systematic theology. He is particularly known for his emphasis on the future of God and his book Theology of Hope, which was published in 1964. Moltmann was born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1926. He studied theology at the University of Göttingen, where he was influenced by the work of Karl Barth.

After completing his doctorate in 1952, Moltmann served as a pastor in the Evangelical Church of Bremen-Wasserhorst. In 1958, Moltmann began teaching theology at an academy in Wuppertal. In 1963, he joined the theological faculty at the University of Bonn.
