So tactful was the planning that insiders at Ol Pejeta said that before sun-up the next day, they didn’t know whose wedding it was.
They had recently been informed that the President and other top government officials will attend a wedding, yet the names of the lady of the bride and groom intentionally forgotten about. In attendance were Citizen TV anchors Lulu Hassan, her husband Rashid Abdalla, and Waihiga Mwaura.

As Dena was working in a part-time job in Nairobi she met a man who dated her and a few months later, he impregnated her and disappeared and never to be seen again.
‘My Mother wanted me to be a journalist, but I wanted to be like my aunt who was a nurse,’ narrates Dena. ‘I got pregnant while working at a fast-food Café in town (Nairobi) called Vesbar. After getting pregnant, I was forced to go back home and take care of my pregnancy. While at Home I got an opportunity to join College to do a short IT course at Mosongari. All this time I was carrying my pregnancy in privacy, only one of my very close friends knew I was pregnant because I had gone with her for Crisis pregnancy at Pumwani,’
Filled with fear, Kanze disclosed the news to her mother and convinced the family of her need to stay in a hostel. However, she ended up trusting her friend who partially kept her secret until the baby was born.
‘Being my first-time pregnancy, I did not know what to do, so I lied to my grandmother that I have to go back to the hostels and do some laundry. Reaching the hostel, I talked to my friend, and we took a Taxi to Pumwani,’ recalls an emotional Kanze Dena.
Dena gave birth to a baby girl, Natasha Anzani, who later after three months passed away. As we speak, Kanze Dena has a son, Nathaniel Amani.

After high school, Kanze Dena started working as a waitress in a restaurant. She then worked with KBC as an intern after college and was recommended by KBC boss that she goes for a voice test and she qualified to read bulletins on KBC radio at 4 p.m.
Afterward, she joined Citizen TV in March 2007 and became a news anchor and news director at royal media services TV Station.
