Meyers was born on July 27, 1977, in Drimnagh, Dublin, Ireland. He was the first of four boys for John O’Keeffe, folk musician and Geraldine (née Myers; 1957–2007), and grew up in County Cork. Meyers’s family is Catholic, and his three younger brothers are skilled musicians. He went to North Monastery Christian Brothers School.

In 2013, Meyers was cast as Dracula in NBC’s television series Dracula alongside Jessica De Gouw Oliver and Jackson-Cohen.
